Arewa Consultative Forum Holds 72nd National Executive Council Meeting

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) convened its 72nd National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday, 21st August, 2025, bringing together key leaders and stakeholders from across the region to deliberate on pressing issues affecting the North and the nation at large.

The meeting commenced with opening prayers, adoption of the agenda, and key announcements, after which the Chairman delivered his opening remarks, setting the tone for the day’s deliberations.

A special session was dedicated to acknowledging the major losses suffered by the Forum and the nation, as members paid tribute to eminent personalities who recently passed on. These include Justice Lawal Uwais, Prof. Jubril Aminu, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, President Muhammadu Buhari, Deputy S/G Alh. Ibrahim Umar Moriki (Ubandoman Moriki), and Chief Audu Ogbeh, former ACF Chairman.

Following this solemn moment, the NEC considered and adopted the minutes of the previous meeting and addressed matters arising. Reports were also presented by the Secretary-General and the Standing Committees, with updates from State Chapters highlighting activities across the region.

The gathering further deliberated on preparations for the 25th Anniversary Celebrations of the Forum, an important milestone in the history of ACF. The meeting also featured discussions on the State of the Nation, reaffirming ACF’s commitment to advocating for unity, peace, and socio-economic progress in Northern Nigeria and the country at large.

The session concluded with any other business raised by members before closing prayers and adjournment.

The Forum remains steadfast in its mission to serve as the voice of Northern Nigeria, working collaboratively with leaders, institutions, and communities to address challenges and promote national development.
