The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) today celebrates one of its, highly cerebral Patrons and former President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a frontline architects of modern Nigeria’s political economy, military hero, a man of several many colours, and recipient of many accolades, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCON, at 84. This occasion provides a reason to celebrate a national hero and a time to reflect the prodigious legacies of a man who has remained a recurring decimal in the history of nation-building and national cohesion in modern Nigeria. An enigmatic persona at any time, IBB remains uniquely distinguished and unforgettable icon who continues to give his all to Nigeria, West Africa and Africa as a whole. The IBB Brand remains a phenomenal household name in all corners of Nigeria, West Africa ion all ramifications, even as he struggles to enjoy a deserved quiet life away from the noise and hullaballoo of political office. It is a testimony of the critical acclaim of his times in military-cum-public service that IBB remains a go-to personality and consultant of sorts for all those wishing to lead or contribute to Nigeria’s its unity, development and progress. It is not far-fetched to assert that he continues to give his all to the realisation the Nigeria Project. Easily amiable but tested and tough Officer and gentleman, IBB remains inspirational to many a politi-cal aspirant as well as office holder. It is with immense gratitude to Allah SWT for the life and time of service to humanity, that the ACF sends Happy Birthday wishes to IBB with prayers for many more years in good health. In line with what it firmly believes to be the innermost wishes of this icon and one of its life pa-trons, ACF prays for a more prosperous Nigeria, where justice, equity, tolerance, patience and peace reign supreme, away from the dire challenging socioeconomic and political dynamics that pervade the national and international landscape.
